Life's a Pitch!ยฎ party starts Monday!
When I started my business 17 years ago, I started with pitching.ย I introduced myself, more confidently than I felt, and landed my first client. I sent one mass email to friends and family that netted me 4 retainer clients (replacing my old PR salary within 4 months of starting).ย I introduced myself to magazine editors and conference organisers to get published and get on stages in front of my ideal clients. But it's not just new businesses that pitching is good for. You pitch your child to get them to eat brussel sprouts. You pitch your friends to book one restaurant, and not the other. You pitch yourself to strangers/acquaintances, to slowly form new friendships (a HUGELY important life skill). In March 2020, I lost about $30K worth of booked face-to-face training. So I did what I always do โ I pitched. One email to a hello@ email address for an organisation that I'd been eyeing for 2 years, turned into $10K worth of work. Most pitches come across all wrong. Way too long. Way too silly. Way too focused on the sender, not the receiver. With no insight into what makes someone fascinating, or an encounter memorable. September 22-26, I'm running a free Party called 'Life's A Pitch!ยฎ Party' which includes cannot-be-easier, copy-and-paste pitch scripts to use for a variety of purposes, including publicity, new business buddies and collaborations, and yes, new clients too. As a business coach, I KNOW that many many owners would rather chew broken glass than hit 'send' on a pitch, so the Party includes everything you need to actually go ahead and hit 'SEND!', short of me pressing down on your finger. Join us > https://www.hustleandheart.com.au/pitch I would also LOVE IT if you'd share. As you know, word of mouth makes small business go 'round. Thanks in advance!
