Ancestral Sacred Space🕯️
Midweek lovelies and I want to plant a little seed today🌿
Have you ever thought about creating a small space in your home for your ancestors?
I’m inspired by so many cultures who do this so beautifully. In my Mexican culture we have Día de los Muertos. In my opinion it is one of the most beautiful traditions where you build an ofrenda. A space where we can put photos, candles, marigolds, their favorite food. We build our ofrendas out of love. Out of saying, I remember you. You are loved and still part of this family.
And the Japanese have altars in their homes called butsudan that families tend every single day. They bring offerings of fruit or their favorite treats. They burn insense and light tiny candles. They speak to their ancestors like they’re still in the room. Because in many ways, they are❤️
What we you did something like that this week? It doesn’t have to be elaborate. A photo. A candle. Maybe a flower or something that reminds you of them. A small corner that says, “this space is for you. I haven’t forgotten where I come from.”
When we create a physical space for something we’re working on energetically, it anchors it. It makes it real. It gives the energy somewhere to land in your home, in your daily life, not just in meditation.
And every time you see this beautiful space you have for them, maybe light a candle or offer a fruit or treat this week, you’re opening that throat chakra a little more. You’re saying I acknowledge you. I honor you. I’m ready to receive your wisdom.
Try it. Even something tiny. Share any ideas you may have down below👇
