Next Steps
  • Study target: Finish Domain 1 (Agentic Architecture) this week; move to Tool Design & MCP next week (https://claudecertificationguide.com/)
  • Exam timing: Several members (Alice, Pam) targeting mid-August for first attempt, allowing two retake windows before October 1st
  • Flashcard resource: Anita to share her 32-module video series + 360-question Claude-generated flashcard deck with Alice for evaluation before wider distribution 56
Key Certification Updates (from Anthropic broadcast)
  • 3 new cert tiers added: Associate (non-technical/strategy), Developer, Architect Professional — non-technical Associate does not count toward the group's 10-person goal
  • Retake wait periods now documented: 14 days after 1st failure → 30 days after 2nd → 90 days after 3rd; capped at 4 attempts per rolling 12 months
  • Certification validity: 12 months, renewal requirements not yet defined
  • No practice exam questions coming soon — the certification platform owner acknowledged it's on her to-do list with no timeline
  • Exam format change: Questions may now require selecting two correct answers (not just one), making distractor-elimination strategies less reliable
  • Claude in Slack ("Claude Tag"): Introduced as a collaborative teammate feature; no demo shown
Pam's Study Method (Demonstrated)
  • Uses the Claude Certification Guide site https://claudecertificationguide.com/ domain-by-domain: read theory → copy built-in concept quiz prompts into a Claude "Study Coach" project → then do hands-on coding exercises
  • Gemini used as a prompt-review advisor to refine coding prompts before executing in Cursor; helps non-coders structure prompts without needing to write code from scratch
  • Running actual API calls with Haiku model to keep token costs low during practice
  • Key insight from exercises: sub-agent failures typically stem from the coordinator not passing sufficient context, not the sub-agent itself — a known exam topic
Agentic Loop Concept Recap
  • Loop runs while true; only exits via end_turn (task complete) or tool use (more work needed)
  • Iteration counters should be a fallback safety cap only, not the primary stop mechanism
  • Domain 1 carries the highest exam weight at ~27%
