Horse Psychology
Horse Psychology
Our horse psychology course takes a look at how horses naturally think, communicate and learn. Here, we learn how to see things from their perspective. With this approach in mind, we can also learn how we need to adjust our perspective to thinking, communicating and learning so that we don't project how human psychology works onto the horse's psychology, which would lead to confusion and frustration to our training efforts.

This course helps a rider advance their horse's ability under saddle while avoiding unwanted stress.

Concepts in Connection - Cantata
Concepts in Connection - Cantata
Concepts in Connection is about Cantata, an Andalusian mare, who is my personal horse that came into my life in 2017. While teaching a clinic in Ohio, a friend of mine said she had a horse she wanted me to meet. While introducing me to her, she shared that three different trainers had tried to bring her along and said she was too much horse. Knowing my passion for horse psychology, she felt her and I would be a great match. This course documents much of our early stages together.

Colt Starting Course - Gus
Our Colt Starting Course tracks the first week we spent with Gus, an untouched 3 year old colt from the 6666's ranch. In 2014, I got to compete as a Wild Card for Road to the Horse, a world-renowned colt starting competition. As a Wild Card, we got to take home an untouched 3 year old colt and train them for 1 year to compete in a Ranch Riding competition to get into the weekend colt starting competition. Gus was my 3 year old, and this was his first week.

Colt Starting Course - Sebastian
Sebastian was a young 3 year old half friesian and half quarter horse cross that I started under saddle in 2012. He was a big horse with a gentle soul but turned out to be an easy start. If you have an interest in Colt Starting, this is a great course that shares insights into how you can make sure you aren't skipping steps when a young horse seems easy but you don't want to take that for granted.
