You Need a New Name 😇

In the beginning God said:

God said. God said. God said. God said.

That's the pattern. Reality is captured within the utterance of God.

His words are not informative. They are creative. When God speaks He doesn't just describe, He creates realms, atmospheres, dimensions, and possibilities. And when He speaks over a life, everything changes.

Jacob understood this.

He wrestled with God and said, I won't let you Go until you BLESS ME!

What was the Blessing? Have you ever looked?

Genesis 32

27 So He said to him, “What is your name?”

And he said, “Jacob.”

28 Then the man said, “Your name will no more be called Jacob, but Israel. For you have fought with God and with men, and have prevailed.”

29 Then Jacob asked Him, “Tell me, I pray You, Your name.”

But He said, “Why do you ask Me My name?” Then He blessed him there.

30 Jacob called the name of the place Peniel, saying, “I have seen God face to face, and my life has been preserved.”

The Blessing was two-fold. First the blessing was the command of God... "Your Name will no longer be Jacob but Israel" then He declares who he is - A Prince (the essence of what the name or the Word Israel means which is "Prince" or "Wrestles or Strives with God")

The Blessing was God calling Jacob by a NEW NAME. A NEW IDENTITY. Before he was a deceiver, a liar, a runaway from his own family... that was his identity, but now God was calling him a prince... The man who was afraid to face his own brother, came face to face with God and prevailed!

Do you understand how profound that is.... the experience of God letting you Win and then hyping you up?

The Second Blessing was the revelation of who Jacob was wrestling with.... Jacob asked "What is your Name" then the mysterious person says, "Why do you ask Me My name?.... THEN He Blessed Him and next we see Jacob saying, "I have seen the Face of God"

In one night, his name changed, his ranking changed, his authority changed. He entered what is called territorial priesthood, authority over regions and territories, not because he worked for it, but because he wrestled for it and refused to let go.

Hosea 12 reflects on that same night and says: "By his strength he had power with God; yea, he had power over the angel and prevailed."

And then God turns to you and says — therefore.

Therefore turn thou to thy God. Wait on thy God continually.

That "therefore" is your invitation. If you need power, a name change, a ranking upgrade, a shifting do what Jacob did. And do it continually. Not once in a blue moon. Continually.

Here's what most people miss:

When the enemy tries to hurt you — he goes after your money, your name, your relationships. He thinks that's your reality.

He's wrong.

Your money is a byproduct of your reality. Your name is a byproduct of your reality. The people around you are channels God used but they didn't build what God built in you.

When a man lives within the sphere of divine utterance the more they try to tear him down, the bigger he becomes. Because everything he has was birthed from a word God spoke. And as long as he remains in that place the reality is untouchable.

Jacob's name changed. But it wasn't the name that mattered. It was where he entered when that name was given to him.

You have work to do on this earth for His Kingdom. You cannot live like everyone else. You have been set apart for this hour and this season.

The question is: will you wrestle until the blessing comes?

The Blessing is understanding Who God is in your situation and from that revelation you Understand Who YOU ARE.

Princes only Wrestle with Princes. Jacob was wrestling with the Prince of Peace! And from that Revelation Jacob, now Israel understood that he was called to be a Prince in the earth representing Heaven.
