Practicing Sacred Remembrance
In the Yoga Sutras, smṛti is usually translated as memory or remembrance. In Yoga Sutra 1.11, it is defined more precisely: anubhūta-viṣaya-asaṁpramoṣaḥ smṛtiḥ—what has been experienced is not lost. It remains available. It can be returned to. This is not memory storage, it's living at the point of sacred contact. In Christianity, Easter is not a one and done. In fact, it's a 50-day season of renewal. Of reliving not only the Easter story but our own sacred origins.
What do you remember about what is sacred in you?
