Using Pre compost to speed up Compost production

I am using my Wormery to provide compost rather that breeding worms. If I use pre compost to speed up the process, do I still feed them regularly on kitchen scraps, or just wait until the pre compost is all worm castings and move worms to a new container of pre compost?
