Lesson learned the hard way… 📄💻
Today, yesterday, Monday… and even Tuesday—I’ve been deep in these bids. Reading. Researching. Trying to understand it all. And I just found out something BIG… One of the bids I’m actively working on?I can’t even submit it yet ❌ Why? Because I need to be certified with the state as a:✔ Black-owned business✔ Woman-owned business✔ Minority-owned business 👉 BEFORE I can even qualify. So let this be a lesson: READ the solicitation. Every. Single. Line. Don’t just jump in thinking you can go for it—make sure you actually meet the requirements first. Still learning. Still building. 💪🏾

This Bid Got Me Busy 😅
Working on a bid for a solicitor and this one… it’s a process. Went back and forth Friday, then spent the weekend + today tracking down ONE specific shirt. No substitutes. Got it narrowed down to 2–3 suppliers. Meanwhile—fulfilled memorial shirts and got them shipped out 🙏🏾 This is the part people don’t see… juggling real orders while learning bids. Still learning. 💪🏾

Getting Bid-Ready Is a Process
Getting my business bid-ready didn’t happen overnight. I started with research—reading, learning, and figuring things out step by step. Coming from the mortgage industry, I’m used to digging for information, so that part came naturally. But that doesn’t make this process easy. It takes time, patience, and real focus. Yesterday, I took a break. No post, no pressure—just a reset. This process can be mentally demanding, and that’s real

Getting Bid-Ready Is a Process
This week’s bids coming in… and I’m learning fast.
Not everything that hits your inbox is actually for you. I’m starting to see how important NAICS codes really are—because they control what opportunities you even get to see. Right now, I’m reviewing, filtering, and tightening things up so I’m only going after what actually fits my business. Progress isn’t just applying—it’s learning how to position yourself correctly.
