The funny side of cooking...
I don't know about you all, but for those of you who have kids you might understand the humor that kids bring to so many situations. Sometimes those situations are you shaking your head going, "What are you thinking?" I had one of those moments today with my son. He's 20 years old, and has a day off work because of snow and cold. It's -8 degrees with the wind chill of -16. And he calls me to show me that he's sitting in the back of his truck with a friend, all bundled up, having a tailgate party for no reason at all. They spent $300 on food, a Coleman stove, and a little deep fryer, and they are sitting there trying to deep fry pickles. The sense of adventure warms my heart, makes me proud. There's no reason to do this, and a million reasons not to, but he's doing it anyways. I'll share the video below, i love them for sitting out there in the freezing cold trying to deep-fry pickles when it actually looks like the oil might be just warm, and it's probably going to be pretty terrible. Ha ha. Oh, and I put this in Tips and Techniques, just in case any of you want to know how to have a Sub-Zero tailgate party. 🤣
