Getting back in the swing of things!
Hey everyone. Happy belated 4th of July, I hope you got some good time with family or friends. I owe you an update and an apology. I had an unexpected hospital stay these last couple of weeks, and it knocked me off the usual posting routine here. I'm doing okay now and getting back on my feet. The Resources & Tools classroom kept moving while I was out. There are new videos up, and I added a fresh research summary you'll find there now if you want something to dig into in the meantime. Regular community posts and discussions pick back up next week. Thank you for your patience, and for being part of this in the first place. It matters more than you probably know. What's one thing that's been on your mind about your own retirement transition lately? Would love to hear where everyone's at.
How ready are you to 'Move'?
Moving your body more is one of the highest-leverage things you can do in retirement. It lifts your mood, sharpens your mind, and even opens the door to connection. But knowing that isn't the same as being ready to act on it, and that's okay. Since we're all somewhere in this together, here's an honest question, no wrong answer. When it comes to moving a little more, where are you right now?

🌅 Monday Check-In: The Physical Dimension June 29, 2026
Happy Monday, everyone. This week we're focusing on the physical dimension — and I want to start not with a workout plan, but with something small. So much of physical wellbeing in this next chapter isn't about intensity. It's about the small, repeatable things like the morning walk, the glass of water, the 15 minutes of quiet before the day grabs you (shoutout to Darlene's back-porch coffee 👏). Simple actions, big payoffs. So here's this week's tiny invitation: pick one small physical anchor habit, something so easy you can't say no — and attach it to something you already do every day. A short walk after lunch. Stretching while the coffee brews. Stairs instead of the elevator. It's similar to last week, but this week be sure it something physical (movement/exercise/activity or nutrition are the most common areas to consider). I'll watch to see what comes up! Have a great week!
Weekend Check-In June 28,2026
Hi there, everyone. We're closing out the week, so let's look back. On Monday, a lot of you named one small habit and anchored it to something you already do. So here's the only question that matters today: how did it go? And to be clear, there's no wrong answer. Maybe it stuck every single day. Maybe it happened twice and then life got loud. Both are completely normal. The goal was never perfection, rather, it's that you noticed, you tried, and you can pick it right back up tomorrow. That's how habits actually form: not in a straight line, but by coming back to them. Three quick reflections if you're up for it: - What did you anchor, and how many days did it actually happen? - How did it feel on the days it did? - What's one small tweak you'd make for next week? Drop your thoughts below. Reading how it went for everyone else is half the fun — and honestly half the glue that keeps us all coming back. I'll go first. 👇 Mine was a 20–30 minute walk or bike ride (Physical Dimension) right after lunch, anchored to finishing my meal. Honest report: it happened 3 days days, missed a couple when the afternoon ran away from me, but even those days, just noticing I'd skipped it made me more likely to get out the next day. The bike rides became less about exercise and more about clearing my head and reflection (emotional dimension) about the difference this can make as I get better and more consistent with this habit. Tweak for next week: laying my shoes by the door so there's zero friction. What about you?
Monday Morning Check-In — Week of June 22
Good morning, everyone. New week, clean slate. This week's idea is the anchor habit: one small action you attach to something you already do. After my morning coffee, I read for ten minutes. The coffee is the anchor, the reading is the habit. It's tiny, but it ripples outward, into a sharper mind, a better mood, and something to talk about with others. That's the whole secret, really. You don't overhaul your life. You pick one small thing and anchor it to a moment that already happens. So here's this week's check-in: what is one small habit you'd like to anchor to your day this week, and what will you attach it to? Drop it in the comments. Saying it out loud is how it starts to stick, and we'll cheer each other on. I'll go first below. 👇 I plan to anchor with finishing lunch which will be followed by a 20-30 minutes walk of bike ride.
