Tuesday Ted Talks (STRESS) 🎀
I recently experienced my first serious panic attack, and I had no idea what was happening.
With everything going on, prepping for a wedding, running the agency, building this community, keeping up with AI moving at light speed, money, relationships, and my living situation, my mind has been running at full speed for about 4 months straight. No breaks. No real ones anyway.
A couple days ago, it all hit me physically. I'm talking full blown panic attack. Heart racing, couldn't think, couldn't make sense of why my body was doing what it was doing. It fucked me up badly.
And here's the thing. I've been an entrepreneur for 12 years. I'm supposed to be built for this. I've trained myself to be stoic, to stay quiet, to just push through. But that's exactly what got me here.
I was overtraining my mind.
Think about it like lifting. You can't hit the gym 7 days a week, max weight, no rest days, and expect your muscles to grow. They'll break down. Your mind works the same way. I kept every single stress alive on a mental board and just kept thinking and thinking about all of it. Never once stopped to actually process any of it.
The realization that hit me is this: reflection is the protein powder for the mind.
You have to figure out where your current threshold is, and then slowly raise the bar. Not by grinding harder. By actually looking in the mirror and being honest about where you're at right now. If you don't, that threshold becomes a permanent stuck point.
I'm not sharing this for pity. I'm sharing it because a lot of you are probably doing the exact same thing right now and won't admit it until your body forces you to stop.
You need to actually step away. Not scroll your phone on the couch and call it rest. Actually stop. Talk to someone who cares about you. Let them look at your situation from the outside. Release the thoughts. Give yourself permission to not carry everything for five minutes.
When's the last time you genuinely recalibrated? Not took a break. Actually stopped and reset.
Drop it in the comments. I want to hear it.
