Welcome to the Cali K9 Community
What’s up fam! Jas here. I want to personally welcome you to the Cali K9 community. This space is for real conversations, real progress, and real results with your dog. No fluff, no shortcuts—just structure, leadership, and consistency. Use this space to introduce yourself and your dog, ask questions, share wins, and talk through the challenges you’re working on. Whether you’re dealing with reactivity, anxiety, obedience, or just want a better relationship with your dog, you’re in the right room. Remember, this isn’t about perfection. It’s about showing up every day, putting in the work, and holding yourself accountable as a handler. The dog follows the leadership you bring. Keep it respectful. Keep it productive. Stay open to learning—even when it’s uncomfortable. I’ll be in here dropping game, answering questions, and helping guide the process. Lock in, trust the system, and let’s build calm, confident dogs together. Welcome to the pack.
Reps Count
Hey everyone. Just wanted to share my own experience. My dog is Maggie, 3 1/2 year old GSD. Reactive and protective of our home. LISTEN TO JAS….THE REPS PAY OFF. Maggie did board and train and all the follow-up classes at Cali K9. I get bored with the repetition. But three years of repetition is paying off. Maggie is non reactive in public. When she locks in at home I can get her to disengage. Basic commands are simple now. But the commands are only the beginning because I have my gym in my garage at home. Used to get in my face when I’d get on a bench. Now when I touch a weight, she lays down and waits until I’m done. Yesterday had leftovers I wanted to eat. Got them out of the fridge. Instead of jumping and sniffing, she laid down and waited for me to eat. It takes time and reps but it does pay off. Consistency and repetition is the key. It is surreal after doing all the reps to see her do what she’s supposed to do. At first I thot something was wrong with her. Ha ha ha. But yes. Put in the reps. Jas knows.
