Stay vigilant
Recovery doesn’t mean we can let our guard down. It means we learn to recognize the things that can take us back to where we came from.
Stay vigilant about your thoughts.
Stay vigilant about your emotions.
Stay vigilant about the people you allow into your life.
Stay vigilant when life gets stressful, lonely, or overwhelming.
Complacency can be dangerous. Sometimes relapse starts long before the first drink or drug—it starts with isolation, resentment, dishonesty, or convincing ourselves that we’re strong enough to handle it alone.
Keep working the program. Keep praying. Keep talking to people who understand. Keep doing the things that got you clean.
Today, we don’t have to fear relapse—we just have to respect the process of recovery.
One day at a time. 🙏💪
