A higher power
Recovery taught me that a Higher Power doesn’t have to look the same for everyone. For some it’s God, for others it’s nature, the universe, love, truth, recovery itself, or simply the strength found in a room full of people who understand.
The important part isn’t having all the answers — it’s being willing to believe that we don’t have to fight alone anymore.
A Higher Power of your own understanding means freedom. Freedom from trying to force someone else’s beliefs onto yourself. Freedom to grow spiritually at your own pace. Freedom to find peace in a way that feels real to you.
Sometimes faith starts small:• Making it through one more day clean• Asking for help instead of isolating• Trusting the process when life feels uncertain• Believing healing is possible even when your mind says otherwise
Your Higher Power can grow as you grow. You don’t need perfection, and you don’t need to understand everything today. Just stay open, stay willing, and keep moving forward.
“Came to believe that a Power greater than ourselves could restore us to sanity.”
