Making changes to DNS record

I have contacted technical support but not sure if this might be a question for others.

I am trying to verify an external website and I have spoken to buildy and he has advised this adding something to DNS I spoke to buildy and I need to add something to my DNS but do not want to break my website. Has anyone else come up with this. I understand what he was saying but I cound not access the DNS to make the changes. Opening it up to the room as I have to wait til next Wednesday for support.
