A basketball game is a game of possessions. Most players will cover close to 2½ miles over the course of a game while competing through 80–120 possessions. To advance the basketball, you only have three options: 🏀 Dribble🏀 Pass🏀 Shoot The defense is trying to stop all three. That's why we train our engine. If your conditioning breaks down, your skills begin to break down. But when your engine is strong, your awareness stays sharp, your decision-making improves, and your touch becomes more efficient. Think of it like a well-tuned car. A healthy engine doesn't have to work harder: it works smarter. It uses only the energy it needs to keep moving. I've noticed the same thing while jogging with a basketball. As I become more winded, my body naturally stops wasting motion. My dribble becomes quieter. My touch becomes lighter. Instead of pounding the ball, I'm simply guiding it. That's efficiency. This Next Assignment ✅ Go on a 10–20 minute light jog with a basketball. While you run, pay attention to: - Your breathing. - Your posture. - How loud or quiet your dribble becomes. - Whether you're using more force than necessary. When you're finished, comment below: 1. How long did you jog? 2. What did you notice about your dribble? 3. What did you learn about your body? (Running apps, parents run with 😉) 📈 Complete this assignment to earn leaderboard points toward exclusive Buckets or Bench gear. Remember: We're not training to survive the game.
