Stop Swinging the Bar: How to Actually Grow Your Biceps with the EZ-Bar Curl 🧠💪
If your torso is swinging like a pendulum every time you pick up an EZ-bar, you’re missing out on the primary driver of bicep growth: mechanical tension. Here’s a quick breakdown to fix your setup and get way more out of every single rep: 3 Steps to a Perfect EZ-Bar Curl 1. Lock the Elbows in Place 2. Pin your elbows tight to your sides, slightly forward of your ribs. Treat the elbow as a fixed hinge. If your elbows drift backward, your rear delts take over. If they swing forward, your front delts do the heavy lifting. 3. Keep Wrists Rigid 4. Grasp the inner angled handles to take pressure off your wrists and inner elbows. Keep your wrists neutral throughout the entire movement—don't flex them inward at the top, or your forearms will steal tension from your biceps. 5. Own the Eccentric (Lowering Phase) 6. Lift under control, squeeze hard for 1 second at chest height, then take a full 2–3 seconds to lower the weight to full extension. The stretch under load is where maximum muscle growth happens. ⚡ P.S. Big updates rolling into the Paid Classroom! I'm currently updating The Vault: Pure Movement Library with fresh, high-level exercise demos and complete video breakdowns. We're stocking up the movement folders across the board: - 🦾 Arm Farm (Biceps & Triceps) - 🏛️ Slab Lab (Chest & Back) - 🦵 Leg Shack (Quads, Hamstrings, Glutes & Calves) If you're already in the paid tier, keep an eye on the Classroom tab as these new breakdowns go live this week! More Than Just Moving Weight
I’ve spent the last six years working high-volume customer service and security roles here in Durant. One thing I’ve learned is that discipline in the gym translates directly to discipline in life. I'm currently deep in my ISSA specialist courses because I want to understand the logic behind the results. I don't want to just 'work out'; I want to train with purpose. I want to know: What’s the #1 goal you’re chasing in the gym right now? Is it a specific lift, a look, or just a better mindset?
More Than Just Moving Weight
“It doesn't matter where you start but how you finish that matters!” - Valerie Irick Rainford
We all walk into the gym for the first time with different backgrounds, different hurdles, and different starting points. Some start with a sports background; others start from day one. The starting line is just a marker. What defines you is the discipline you show in the final mile, the final set, and the final rep. It’s about how you choose to show up every single day until the job is done. Finish strong. Start today.
