👋WELCOME BOOK BOSSES! 🎓

I just wanted to say "hiya" and to give you a warm welcome as a Founding Member here into the BOOK BOSS ACADEMY! We are so excited and thrilled that you have chosen to join us!

What has really struck me over the last 2 weeks that I've been talking about Book Boss is that I feel like I've FINALLY found my people and I've FINALLY found my tribe after nearly 10 years of coaching here in the online space - somehow there was always a little tiny "niggle" somewhere deep inside me that I wasn't quite in the right place and I wasn;t quite where I belonged.

I never really knew it and I never really realised it until now. Since working on writing books and developing the Book Boss Brand, I realise that as a teenager, the people I would hang out with were actually other teens who loved to read and write and also play musical instruments and enjoy the theatre. That was ALWAYS my world into my twenties aswell.

But then I lost my way and entered a few bad relationships and I also lost my passion for books, music and theatre because I was too busy going through trauma. Bad relationships. Toxic jobs. Motherhood! lol

I tell you this because I want you to know as the leader of this group, as your coach and honestly as your personal friend too that THIS. IS. IT. I finally feel at complete peace with what I am doing in my business, with what we are doing and what we are trying to achieve here inside Book Boss and I am finally back with the most wonderful bunch of gorgeous people once again. People who care. People who are creative. People who are kind and who just want to make an impact in the world.

I am here to help you do that and also to do the best I can to also make sure you grow and build a pot of income over time for your future - for your family - for those tough times in life when you may be sick or caring for a loved one or perhaps you just want to take time out and travel.

This is my purpose to ensure that I and that all of you get to fulful those dreams and goals and this is my mission - to ensure that I work to help and support all of you in here together with my team and we do all that we can for each other to make this dream a reality.

We begin the Book Boss Academy officially on Monday 31st March at 4pm UK time over on ZOOM (replays available!) - I have named this first 7 days together "BOOK CAMP" and depending on how Book Camp goes, this may be something that I do regularly too. Imagine if every time I run Book Camp, WE ALL produce A BRAND NEW BOOK!!!!! How amazing and how awesome would that be!

So what can we be doing in the meantime this week? What can we be doing to prepare for Book Camp?

Well there are lots of things actually!

The first thing you can do is to introduce yourself here inside this group! This way we will all build a sense of community and cameraderie that I feel is absolutely crucial if we want to build a culture and a community herr where we trust each other, we help each other, we support each other with our book launches and with posting book reviews.

It is also really important for me to get to know the founding members of this Membership (you guys!) - because I know some of you will choose to be here with me for years to come! Some of you are just starting a huge exciting journey of book publishing just like I am and some of you will want to carry on that journey together with me for the long term. If this is you then I really do want to get get to knoo you. The more I know you, the more I can support you and give you tailored advice.

The second thing you can do is to think about what book would you like to create together next week!? I know some of you already have your book idea in mind - some of you have already started working on your book!

But just to give you some pointers - the first thing you need to think about is asking yourself "what is your goal with this first book?" - what is the REASON why you wish to create this one next week?

It's really important that you know WHY you are creating this first book and this will then help you to choose what book you want to create! You might even put the book you are currently working on down next week in order to focus on something else!

Here are some ideas for you.....

You might create your first book just purely for fun! A PASSION PROJECT so to speak! You might create something on a topic that truly lights you up! And this first book may have absolutely NOTHING to do with your current business or job! - I actually think this is a really great idea because when your book comes from something that you are passionate about, you are going to toally have a ball of a time creating it! One of my self-publishing friends created a low content book and she published it for her grandma to write down all of her life facts and memories and best recipes. It was a low content book filled with prompts for her Grandma to spend time filling in. A bit like a memoir and when she published it, everyone loved it too and it really took off!

It's a really great idea to start with a passion project because I really want you to really enjoy this experience!

If you enjoy this experience this first time around, then your brain will tell you to write more books and do this more and thus you will be more successful because you are actually enjoying the creative process!

So that's one idea - to choose anything that you are really interested and passionate about; your PASSION PROJECT and that you already know a lot about and to focus on getting it done in our 7 Day Book Camp (don't worry if yours takes you a little longer tho! - I know some of you are super busy!)

Another idea is to create your first book as a CORE LEAD MAGNET for your business (this is what I am going to be doing alongside you next week - you will see my book cover in the photo below - I am actually writing a book about getting children to love bedtime aswell because this is something I have always been really good at and I have developed my own genius method over time! - So I am actually working on 2 books right now) - My daughter is working on a decluttering and cleaning book for ADHD (as we both have ADHD) so we are actually working on 3 books! lol

Yeah so if you have a business already or if you are a coach then having a CORE BOOK that you can use as a lead magnet for your business is a great option for you!

I will teach you ways you can launch it as a free book or just for $1 for a short time before you put the price up OR you can just have your first book as a free lead magnet if you like.

Another couple of ideas for you is to think about a BOOK SERIES that you would want to create and then to plan to do BOOK ONE in a series. This is something I did myself 6 years ago. It was a childrens book series. The really great thing about creating a whole book series is that if one takes off in terms of sales, it will automatically fuel the sales of the other books in the series.

I think writing a book series is a really SAVVY and STRATEGIC move to make! So you can also think about this too!

Another SAVVY and STRATEGIC idea for you is to create a book that 1) YOU are interested in yourself and 2) that BLENDS TWO TRENDS! If your goal is to generate income (and there's nothing wrong with having income goals in fact it can be quite exciting!) but if this is your goal then blending TWO TRENDS in an area where you see a gap in the market (you can search for books on Amazon to see what other books are on the market) but if you see a gap in the market and you are able to combine two trends then you are likely to have a really successful book AND enjoy yourself creating it - which is a winning combination!

Anyways..............I could go on and on and on with ideas for you but I hope this is enough to really get you thinking carefully about what you want to do with us next week.

You can then have a go at creating a book cover for your book and play around with it. HINT: Your book cover is one of the absolute more important things and you want to do everything in your power to ensure that YOUR book cover is better than all your competitors' book covers combined!

But its a nice idea to play around with this to start with on Canva (there are a lot of book cover templates already on Canva but I will also be adding templates AND training on this inside this Academy too!) - so don't worry too much about this if designing book covers is not your jam!
