As I gear up for another tropical week (hello, 30°C and climbing ☀️), I thought this was the perfect time for a gentle PSA:
✨ Just because your brain is on fire with ideas… doesn’t mean your body has to be.
Let’s be real — writing, publishing, and building creative momentum is exciting...
But working through the heat with no breaks, no hydration, and a tired body?
That’s a fast track to brain fog, frustration, and wilting creativity.
So this week, let’s all be a little more intentional.
💦 Drink more water than coffee.
🌿 Take your laptop outside in the shade.
🫖 And try this writer-approved, herbally-infused iced tea to help you keep a cool head — literally and creatively.
🌱🍋 Lemon-Mint Iced Tea for Focus & Chill
This blend is refreshing, calming for your nerves, and sharpens the mind.Think: clarity in a glass, with a citrusy breeze on top.
Ingredients:
- 1 tbsp dried lemon balm (calming + mood-lifting)
- 1 tsp dried peppermint (cooling + focus-boosting)
- ½ tsp green tea (optional, for a little lift — skip it if you’re caffeine-free)
- A few slices of fresh lemon
- A tiny drizzle of honey (optional)
- Ice cubes & fresh mint to serve
Instructions:
- Steep the lemon balm, peppermint, and green tea in hot (not boiling) water for 5–7 minutes.
- Strain and let it cool to room temperature.
- Add lemon slices and honey if using.
- Chill in the fridge or pour over ice. Garnish with a sprig of mint.
🍹 Bonus: pour it into your favourite glass, find a shady spot, and sip while brainstorming your next book or journal. Let it be a ritual.
📓 You’re building something amazing — but you don’t have to overheat to make progress.
Hydrate, pause, breathe, and keep creating.
Even your most brilliant ideas need a cool head to bring them to life 💛
