For a long time I've known that one of my greatest character flaws is my fear of failure. This has lead to be being plagued by analysis paralysis for a long time. I've known academic coaching is something I have wanted to do since the start of 2025, and it took me nearly 18 months to even begin a skool community.
I have been very careful in every step that I have taken along this journey. This careful approach has meant that I have remained relatively within my comfort zone.
But I am learning that I need to change. I need to be more comfortable with making mistakes and public failure. I need to not obsess over planning, but rather commit to a direction, begin well before I feel ready and figure it out as I go.
Most recently this is evident with the 1 on 1 coaching I wish to begin. It has taken me far longer to launch than is reasonable because I am scared of not being completely and totally ready. I will launch tomorrow, even if it is not perfect, even if it is not fully complete, because I know I can figure it out as I go. I write this partly to provide an insight into me, partly as an accountability measure so I cannot back out in the morning.
My 6 week goal (15 September - 27 October) is to give my absolute all to becoming the best possible coach I can be. I will work tirelessly to do so. I am however, aware that relying on willpower alone for this is insufficient and will lead to burnout. I will have to deal with that as I go, i will not stall by trying to plan.
For those of you who will be joining the pilot program launching tomorrow, be ready. I request a continual stream of back and forth communication so I can get you to your goals as quickly as possible and so I can get as much data as possible over this coming period to sharpen my coaching skills as quickly and completely as possible.
