A poem for my wife
I feel you on my skin; my shielded veneer
Like the sand encircles the ocean
You envelope all my essence
Captivating me with each and every wave
like the tide taking back its water
You pull me to your loving embrace
Shaking all the sea glass off my frame
Our silhouettes tap dancing with desire
The moon over the salty air looms
Showing my favorite shades of love
Then your eyes held onto mine
& a star shot across the sky
Asking for a wish to be made
I desired to see my fate
I asked the seashells for a depiction
But instead they whispered all they knew
My life begins with you.
