Pitch count and being honest about your body!!
As most of you are in the middle of season it is very important that you are honest with your coaches about how you are feeling. YOUR career and season depends on it. I know many coaches want to pressure you into throwing as often or as many pitches as they see fit, but this is not the way it needs to be. It is perfectly ok to speak up and say you need an extra days rest or to talk to them about how many pitches you need to throw. It is very important to remember that your health is not always their number one priority. Often they are so focused on winning as many games as possible to get a raise or keep their job that they often overlook the health of their players. When we are tired that chances of an injury increase dramatically. The wear and tear on your arm or bodies aren't always seen right way but can often happen outings or weeks after the overuse happens. I am firm believer that the increased arm injuries in the MLB are due to the velocity that guys are throwing but due to overuse even years before the injury happens. So please advocate for yourself because if you dont who will? #begreat
