Write something
If you write
Do you think simply sitting quietly and writing could change your life? I have been writing since the age of six, and it has been life saving for me. I know you might think that is a little dramatic, but there were times in my life that a pen and sticky note gave me an outlet to say what I was really feeling; to a boss, spouse, parent, and especially to God. When we write we subconsciously allow feelings and ideals that are waiting to be released to the world. I dare you to try it, 🫤don't be scared.🫣
The power of life and death.
Your words are seeds. What you plant, you grow. Today, speak words that build the life you want for your future, eliminate negative energy and plant the seeds to harvest the fruit of your work not of doubt. 🌸 📖 “The tongue has the power of life and death, and those who love it will eat its fruit.” — Proverbs 18:21 Hashtags: #PowerOfWord #FaithAndWords #PlantGoodSeeds

Write your first post, I am...
Hello and welcome to Black Women Writing, I am so glad you found us. I created this community for black women who want to learn and share their story with others. Stories have the ability to heal, teach, and create abundance and legacy. I want to build a community where black women take ownership of the narrative and voice of our stories. Black women of African descent have a uniqueness lineage that no other women in the world can claim. For years the narrative of that uniqueness has been camouflaged by others writing as stories as something negative. I want women in this community to take back the pen and ownership of our stories. Please introduce yourself and share with the community what you want to learn within the community. You are a woman that will write great things; we are all waiting for you to share your first post in the community.

"Embracing Ubuntu and Sankofa."
I established Women That Write as a creative and safe community where women, especially those of African ancestry can connect, support, and grow together. Rooted in the African philosophies of Ubuntu—"I am because we are"— and Sankofa - "go back and fetch it," the community embraces tradition, honoring the legacy of Ubuntu and Sankofa. We are crafting our life stories to let others know the path that we have already traveled. Here, we reclaim and amplify our authentic culture voices by crafting our stories in a safe space for collaboration, learning, and lifting each other up to preserve and create our legacy while shaping our futures.
