WELCOME to BITE!
Start by introducing yourself! I'm Logan, a 24 year old who has a Civil Engineering Degree, but is now ranching full time! Some decision maker I am 😬. I work for a first calf heifer and yearling operation in Northern Wyoming. I have been here for almost 2 years and currently manage (mostly) the yearlings. I have learned a great deal about grazing management from both my boss, as well as the Ranching For Profit School. I continue to learn everyday through decisions (good and bad) as well as the growing community of new grazing principals. My goal with BITE is to share what I know and hopefully learn more from you!
Post Graze: Rule of Thirds
Rule of Thirds for grazing is that you should be grazing 1/3 trampling 1/3 and leaving 1/3. In this case, animals are eating the best 1/3, putting a lot of carbon back into the soil, and leaving behind enough to ensure quick recovery and keep that solar panel up.

Looks like it wasn't even grazed!
The exact same field 1 month after being grazed a little too hard and you almost can even tell the difference on either side of the fence!

Spring Fed Tank!
Found some pooling water and it was a decent natural spring! Put in a box that feeds a tank running about 2 gpm! Great addition to one of our larger fields!
