AN UNFINISHED SONG IS STILL WAITING ON YOU! Your next song could encourage someone who's struggling. It could become part of your first album. It could introduce your music to a new audience. It could even become the song that helps you discover your signature sound. But first, you've got to FINISH IT! 🎯 TODAY'S FINISH-IT FRIDAY CHALLENGE Set aside 30 minutes today and choose ONE unfinished music project. Here's your assignment: 🎵 Step 1: Open a song you've already started. ✍🏾 Step 2: Identify exactly what's keeping it from being finished. 🎧 Step 3: Work on that ONE thing. Maybe it's your chorus, lyrics, arrangement, or final mix. 🎨 Step 4: If the song is already finished, work on the cover artwork or promotional materials. ✅ Step 5: Save your progress and decide whether the song is ready for release or needs one final session. LEARNING HOW TO EARN FROM YOUR MUSIC IS ANOTHER! 💰🎶 Some of you have already released songs, but have you checked whether you're properly set up to collect the royalties you may be entitled to? And here's another question: Do you actually know where your music royalties come from? Let's talk about it! 🎧 STREAMING ROYALTIES: When your music is streamed, different types of royalties may be generated. Your distributor typically handles the recording revenue from platforms such as Spotify and Apple Music. ✍🏾 SONGWRITING ROYALTIES: If you qualify as a songwriter or publisher, you may also be entitled to publishing royalties.
