"Thus He declared all foods clean"
Hi friends.
I was reading through the Bible recently and I came across Mark 7:19:
(Mark 7:18-19 NASB)
And He said to them, “Are you so lacking in understanding as well? Do you not understand that whatever goes into the person from outside cannot defile him, because it does not go into his heart, but into his stomach, and is eliminated?” **(Thereby He declared all foods clean.)**
[Emphasis added]
I never came across this before and I find it very interesting. (I realize the reason why I have never seen it before is because the parentheses do not appear in the NKJV)
But I find it pretty interesting. What do you guys think? Was Jesus declaring all foods clean here? Or did that come with Paul?
Perhaps this isn't that big of a deal, but I have been thinking about how us Gentile Christians don't keep the ceremonial/traditional Jewish laws and feasts.

We're Christians serious about understanding 'the big picture' of Scripture.
