Proverbs 10
1. 👀 What stood out to you? There is a definite shift in the way the Proverbs are written now. Chapters 1-9 read like a fable of a man falling victim to the Strange Woman because he left Wisdom. Chapter 10 starts with the words "The Proverbs of Solomon" then couplets. Chapter 1 also started with "the proverbs of Solomon" so I reckon he (or his scribe) wrote chapters 1-9 as one work and Chapter 10 starts a new work. I look forward to see if there are more distinct "chunks" in the Proverbs! 2. 💡 Did you learn anything new? (If yes, what?) Just what I have stated above: I never really noticed the change in format starting in chapter 10 before. I want to take the time to see what cross references I can find with each couplet; I bet it's a goldmine! 3. 🎯 How can you apply this to your life? Every couplet is an absolute banger and reading through them regularly is a great way to keep your mind freshly renewed in wisdom!

Proverbs 9
1. 👀 What stood out to you? Quite a bit! But a couple big ones: Verses 1-6 Sounds prophetic of Jesus Christ, especially verses 5-6 "Come, eat of my bread, and drink of the wine which I have mingled. Forsake the foolish, and live;" Verse 10 "The fear of the LORD is the beginning of wisdom:" this phrase & similar appear several times in the Bible; whenever something is repeated in the Bible, it means it's VERY important! 2. 💡 Did you learn anything new? (If yes, what?) Searching for the phrase in verse 10 I came across Job 28 and it feels like another "rendition" (there's probably a better word that I can't think of) of Proverbs 8 and Psalm 19. Just go read it after Prov. 8 & Psalm 9. 3. 🎯 How can you apply this to your life? Verses 7-9: don't waste your time & energy with fools. The more wisdom you have, the faster you'll be able to discern a fool from a wise man - and further, DON'T be the fool, but humble yourself and take rebuke so you can grow in wisdom! And in regards to recognizing a fool, verse 13 " a foolish woman is calmorous"; that seems pretty obvious, but I have seen videos of some loud mouth woman making a fuss over something stupid and people in the comments taking her side... I pray I'm never that stupid.

Proverbs 8
1. 👀 What stood out to you? Verses 1-6 Wisdom is crying out, begging to be heard; this was also iterated in Chapter 1: Wisdom calling out but nobody listening. Reminds me of Romans 1:20 "For the invisible things of him from the creation of the world are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even his eternal power and Godhead; so that they are without excuse:" The truth is right there staring at us so we are without excuse to remain ignorant. Verses 18-21 describing the value of Wisdom. In the previous chapter, the Strange Woman draws men in with the illusion of valuable treasures, but Wisdom is more valuable than gold & silver and produce more valuable treasures than the Strange Woman could ever give you. Verses 22-31: seeing Wisdom personified as one rejoicing with the Lord since before the creation is interesting. There's probably some more insight on creation here if I took the time to study it out - which I plan to do at some point :) 2. 💡 Did you learn anything new? (If yes, what?) The line in verse 19 "my fruit is better than gold, yea, than fine gold" reminded me of Psalm 19, specifically verses 9-10 "... the judgments of the Lord are true and righteous altogether. More to be desired are they than gold, yea, than much fine gold". This Psalm has a lot of parallels ideas to Proverbs 8; I've been trying to figure out how to write out the comparisons for the last 5 minutes, but it's too much: go read them for yourself! It's fascinating! 3. 🎯 How can you apply this to your life? Per verse 33: "Hear instruction, and be wise, and refuse it not." nuff said.

Proverbs 7
Ahhhhh I've fallen behind again!! 1. 👀 What stood out to you? The strange woman draws in the fool with flattery and all the "cool shiny things" she has (spices, artwork, etc.) and promises of love only to bring the fool to his grim end. And verse 26 specifically stood out to me "For she hath cast down many wounded: yea, many strong men have been slain by her." 2. 💡 Did you learn anything new? (If yes, what?) Not really, but this chapter shows how strong the temptations of sin can be and it'll knock even the strongest men down; and a lack of discernment will have you so "hypnotized" by all the "shiny things" that are promised that you don't even realize you're walking straight to your doom. But if you have Wisdom, she will keep you from falling for the traps. 3. 🎯 How can you apply this to your life? If you don't want to make a fool of yourself, lay hold onto Truth and continue seeking Wisdom!

Day/Proverbs #9
1. 👀 What stood out to you? Wisdom is a way of life that is applicable in every different scenario. 2. 💡 Did you learn anything new? (If yes, what?) /// “He who corrects a scoffer gets shame for himself, And he who rebukes a wicked man only harms himself. Do not correct a scoffer, lest he hate you; Rebuke a wise man, and he will love you. /// I need to learn to not always argue when people disagree. 3. 🎯 How can you apply this to your life? I've spent a lot of time trying to convince people of my ideas. I should converse only with people who engage honestly.

"I've spent a lot of time trying to convince people of my ideas. I should converse only with people who engage honestly." Relatable; took me long enough to learn this lesson lol
