1. 👀 What stood out to you?
Verses 1-6 Wisdom is crying out, begging to be heard; this was also iterated in Chapter 1: Wisdom calling out but nobody listening. Reminds me of Romans 1:20 "For the invisible things of him from the creation of the world are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even his eternal power and Godhead; so that they are without excuse:" The truth is right there staring at us so we are without excuse to remain ignorant.
Verses 18-21 describing the value of Wisdom. In the previous chapter, the Strange Woman draws men in with the illusion of valuable treasures, but Wisdom is more valuable than gold & silver and produce more valuable treasures than the Strange Woman could ever give you.
Verses 22-31: seeing Wisdom personified as one rejoicing with the Lord since before the creation is interesting. There's probably some more insight on creation here if I took the time to study it out - which I plan to do at some point :)
2. 💡 Did you learn anything new? (If yes, what?)
The line in verse 19 "my fruit is better than gold, yea, than fine gold" reminded me of Psalm 19, specifically verses 9-10 "... the judgments of the Lord are true and righteous altogether. More to be desired are they than gold, yea, than much fine gold". This Psalm has a lot of parallels ideas to Proverbs 8; I've been trying to figure out how to write out the comparisons for the last 5 minutes, but it's too much: go read them for yourself! It's fascinating!
3. 🎯 How can you apply this to your life?
Per verse 33: "Hear instruction, and be wise, and refuse it not." nuff said.
