1. 👀 What stood out to you?
There is a definite shift in the way the Proverbs are written now. Chapters 1-9 read like a fable of a man falling victim to the Strange Woman because he left Wisdom.
Chapter 10 starts with the words "The Proverbs of Solomon" then couplets. Chapter 1 also started with "the proverbs of Solomon" so I reckon he (or his scribe) wrote chapters 1-9 as one work and Chapter 10 starts a new work. I look forward to see if there are more distinct "chunks" in the Proverbs!
2. 💡 Did you learn anything new? (If yes, what?)
Just what I have stated above: I never really noticed the change in format starting in chapter 10 before.
I want to take the time to see what cross references I can find with each couplet; I bet it's a goldmine!
3. 🎯 How can you apply this to your life?
Every couplet is an absolute banger and reading through them regularly is a great way to keep your mind freshly renewed in wisdom!
