Welcome New Members
A warm welcome to all the new members who have joined this group. I created this group with the goal of creating an open, safe, and scientifically-backed platform where we share ideas on how we can live healthy lives despite the diagnosis of rheumatoid arthritis. A healthy life truly means being healthy; not just free of rheumatoid arthritis. This means a state of complete physical, mental, and social well-being not just absence of rheumatoid arthritis. This includes appropriate medical treatment along with lifestyle changes, which have an important impact on our health. Please let me know how I could serve. I'm learning with you all. Welcome !👋

👋 Welcome to Better Living with RA — The NESSCAR System
I want to tell you why I built this community. A few years ago, a patient, I'll call her Linda came in for a routine follow-up. Her CRP was down. Her DAS28 score was good. By every clinical measure, she was doing well. I asked her how she was really doing. She paused. Then she said: "Honestly, Dr. Subedi? I feel like RA has made my world smaller. I used to garden every weekend. I haven't been able to in two years. I stopped going to my book club because I never know how I'll feel. My family tries to understand but they don't really get it. I'm grateful the medication is working. I just... I thought I'd feel more like myself by now." I've never forgotten that conversation. Because it wasn't a clinical problem. It was a life problem. And no prescription was going to solve it. That's when I knew I needed to build something beyond the 20-minute appointment. Welcome to that something. Better Living with RA — The NESSCAR System is a community and course built on 7 lifestyle pillars: Nutrition · Exercise · Sleep · Stress care · Checkpoints · Avoid triggers · Relationships Combined with the 4F fuel that keeps you going: Faith · Family · Friends · Fulfillment This is the full-person approach to RA that most clinic appointments don't have time for. 💬 Introduce yourself below — I read and reply to every comment. 👇 Tell me: what has RA taken from you that you want back? That's what we're here to get. — Dr. Ananta Subedi, MD, MPH The Rheum Doc | rheumdoc.com #NESSCAR #BetterLivingWithRA #RheumatoidArthritis #ChronicIllness #TheRheumDoc Medical Disclaimer The content in this community is for educational purposes only. Nobody had ever talk about food, sleep, stress, or movement.
A patient sat down in my office last week, arms crossed, voice flat: "I've been told my whole life that I just have to live with this pain." She had RA. Three years on medication. Nobody had ever talked to her about food, sleep, stress, or movement. We changed that conversation. Four months later, she walked in smiling. The reason I'm telling you this is because medication matters — it puts out the fire. But how you live is how you rebuild after the fire. And that part belongs to you. What's one thing you've done this week to take care of yourself beyond your medication? Tell me below — I read every comment.
