If you've been following along with us, you're ready to sew your first pair of lounge shorts!

Here's what we've done so far:

✅ Learned the most important sewing foundations → using your machine, basic stitches and a few skills like sewing curves and corners, seam allowances etc.

✅ Covered the important things you should know about fabric - grainline, fabric types and what all those things like weight and drape mean.

And now you should be ready to start working on your shorts pattern! Before you start sewing, there's some sewing PREP that you can't skip. Here's what you'll do next:

Print your pattern
Choose the correct size
Cut your fabric
Sew!

This pattern is a PDF pattern, which means you download it and you can either print the full-sized version on A0 at a copy shop OR you can print it on a home printer on A4 or US letter paper and assemble it, much like a puzzle 🧩

👉 HOW TO CHOOSE YOUR SIZE:

The most important thing you need to know about sewing clothes is that your size when shopping is NOT your size when sewing. Sewing sizes are different and you must use your measurements or you'll end up with the wrong fit.

🚨 I *highly* recommend choosing your size BEFORE printing your pattern - and please print at least 3 sizes (one smaller and one larger than your measurements)🚨
