Introduction
I’m “identifying” as a beginner runner because I’m starting over. I’m 55 now. 8 years ago I started running in Atlanta with the Atlanta track club. I completed 5Ks. I completed the famous Peachtree Road Race (10k) twice. Then I completed a Half. During that Half, I tore my meniscus. No surgery, just PT was required to recover. But I stopped running. :( Life happened and I didn’t get right back on the horse.
Since moving to Sarasota 6 years ago, I’ve only run a handful of times. Fast forward to today and I am registered for the Skyway bridge 10K run in March. Running that bridge has been a goal since moving here. So, I decided to start fresh as a beginner to prepare for that run, but also ensure I don’t cause injury by moving too fast. I am fortunate enough to get that “Runner’s High” and I want to experience that again and on into life.
