Join me for coffee? - we're going live on Wednesday 4th November!
Hey all, A big thank you to everyone here, new and founding members alike. You're in right at the beginning, which makes you part of how this community takes shape 😉 My main aim is to give you the speaking practice you want but perhaps cannot easily find, for the mindset and the English that go with working life. I've booked our first live coffee break for Wednesday 4th November at 13.00 CET (lunchtime in Central Europe and London). It's half an hour, relaxed, and a chance to chat. I know the time won't suit everybody, as we're an international group, but as more of you join in there will be more sessions at different times and with different themes. How to get a seat: the live sessions are free for anyone at level 2 or above, and you get there simply by joining in. Answer a poll, reply to a question in the feed or comment on someone's post, and you'll move up. It also helps me hear what you'd like from the group. Our two simple ground rules: be kind to each other, and be part of the conversation. That's really all it takes for this to feel like a good place to hang out. Looking forward to getting to know you all over the next couple of months. Kelly

Welcome to Be Confident – in English
I am genuinely excited to open this community. It's designed for professionals and academics who can do the English and the language points, but their confidence is what holds them back. You have arrived right at the beginning, which means you can help shape what we build ✨ A small number of founding places are free for people who want to take an active part: joining the conversations and telling me what you are stuck on, so that what goes into this community is based on what you actually need. I will bring in insights from my private clients too, and turn what we learn together into trainings and resources. To get us started, please go to the classroom course called "Start Here" where I'd love for you to introduce yourself in the comments. I am really looking forward to meeting you and serving this community! Kelly a.k.a. Coach Kelly Anne M

How we work here
This is a place to practise being the professional you are - in English. Please share your thoughts in your authentic English voice (no AI). Please respond to each other's ideas, and please do not correct each other's grammar. We encourage rather than correct. Any feedback on your English will come from me, in a way that supports you. And please join in however feels right for you, whether that is a short comment, a question or a longer post. Looking forward to supporting you in your professional English - step by step.

Building Confidence in English, One Conversation at a Time
I found this group while looking for a supportive space to build confidence in using English, especially in everyday and professional conversations. I love the idea of practicing in a relaxed environment where we can learn from one another without worrying too much about making mistakes. I’d love to improve how I express my thoughts, communicate more naturally, and feel more confident speaking English at work and in daily life. What about you? What situation makes you feel least confident when speaking English, and what would you most like to improve?
Ayşe from Türkiye
Hi, I am Ayşe. These are my answers :) 🌿🌿 🌿🌿 1. What are your two biggest pain points with English at work right now? First one is: Feeling fully confident with my pronunciation Second one is: Spontaneous spoken fluency during international meetings. 2. What have you already tried that did not help? I watched some videos about pronunciation, but they didn't give me the practical solution. 3. What would you most expect to see in this community? Practical pronunciation exercises. 4. Which formats work best for you: slides, video, written text, or a mix? Videos and songs :) 5. When live sessions begin, which days or times suit you, and would you rather type or speak at first? Mondays and Wednesdays at 18:00 suit my schedule best. 🌿🌿 🌿🌿
