My journey
Hi everyone, what a great place to read the comments and share our story. I was always a overweight growing up and it was always put down to puppy fat! Well the puppy fat never went away even trying all the different diets out there.. Having being diagnosed with Type 2 diabetes about 19 years ago and tried many tablets to bring my sugar levels down and my blood test results in April 2025 my doctor suggested Mounjaro (GLP-1) as I was on 3 tablets for the Type 2, I thought why not give it a go.. I came off one of the tablets straight away as the GPL-1 takes over from that one.. I started my journey on the 3rd March 2025 weighing in at 15stone 7lbs (217lbs or 98.45kilos) with a BMI of 37.5 and as of 5th January 2026 I weighed in at 10 stone 3lbs (143lbs or 65.25kils) with a BMI of 24.9.. to say this has been the best help I have ever had would be an understatement. My whole outlook on food has changed.. I cried when I tried on a size 10 pair of trousers for work, I was wearing 22-24 at the start. When I started on the 2.5mg GPL-1 pen and went up to 5mg after a month but felt that was working for a few months so did not go up to the 7.5mg after about 4 months and have stayed on that ever since, my advise would be don't go up unless you feel you need to. The only downside of losing the weight for me is the loose skin but at times I look at it as a 'how far you've come' moment and obviously the cost of having to buy new clothes :) .. I look forward to space to hear and get advise from others going through their journeys and wish everyone luck on them xxx
