You Define You, Your weight is along for the ride.
So many times I hear people on the internet say, "If I could just lose the weight, I'll be better." Really? Is that true? You can't be who you are because of the physical body you have? I just don't subscribe to that mentality. Will you feel better when you lose the weight? Sure, absolutely. But will you actually be a better person? Will you suddenly start treating people with respect? Will you all of a sudden become the father or mother that you are not currently? Will you become a better husband, wife, friend, or just a better human being? I think we need to really ask ourselves these questions. Losing weight can absolutely change your life, and I know that firsthand. I am down over 180lbs in three years, however I want you to know your weight does not define who you are as a person. You don't have to wait until you hit a certain number on the scale to start living your life, chasing your dreams, or being the person you want to be. You can start doing that RIGHT NOW. Don't let the body you are in today determine the person you can become tomorrow. Work on your health, work on your fitness, but don't forget to work on yourself as a person along the way. Because at the end of the day, the number on the scale doesn't determine your worth, and it never has.
