In this video I make 3D animations without ever opening Blender. Claude Code writes a Python script, then Blender runs it in the background and renders every frame. One project, three levels, all on a MacBook.
Step 1, Setup:
Blender is free from blender.org, or just ask Claude Code to install it for you. That's the whole setup. No MCP, no plugins. Step 2, Level one, a 2D image to a 3D model:
I give Claude Code one flat picture of my mascot. It builds him out of about 40 blocks, lights a little studio around him and renders a still in about 17 seconds.
Step 3, Level two, make him move:
A 10 second animation where he hops across five glowing buttons that light up as he lands, then turns and waves. Even the sound effects are made in Python. This is where the renderer matters. EEVEE is the fast one, Cycles is the realistic one. This clip rendered in EEVEE in about 10½ minutes.
Step 4, Level three, a product ad:
I drop in a label for a made-up energy drink called VOLTRA and describe the ad like a director would. Claude renders six preview stills first, so you fix the shot before the long render. Then the full Cycles render (150 frames, about 39 minutes) plus a 9:16 version for Reels cut from the same frames.
The download is attached to this post:
→ The three prompts, word for word
→ The scripts Claude Code wrote on camera, ready to run
→ The scripts behind every clip in the intro
→ The mascot picture and the VOLTRA label
Paste the prompts into Claude Code and let it write its own scripts, or run mine straight away. The README walks through both.
When you've made something with it, post it in here. I'd love to see what you build.
