You can be the most competent financial advisor in your city. You can have the best strategies for annuities and IULs. You can genuinely care about your clients more than anyone else. But if nobody knows who you are, none of that matters. Competence does not equal visibility. I see brilliant advisors every single day who are struggling to grow their practice because they are the best kept secret in their market. They are relying on hope. They hope that if they just do a good job, the referrals will pour in. They hope that if they just send out another direct mail piece, the phone will ring. Hope is not a marketing strategy. Hope is a recipe for a plateau. The market does not reward the best advisor. The market rewards the most visible advisor who is perceived as the best. There is a massive difference. If your competitor has a book published, has been interviewed on FOX, and has a podcast, while you only have a nice website and a firm handshake, who do you think the prospect will choose? They will choose the perceived authority every single time, even if you are technically superior. You must fix your visibility crisis before you try to fix anything else.
