Karl is a creator I've been following for longer than I can remember. He's one of the first real photographers I started keeping up with on IG and over the last decade this dude has built out a gigantic space for himself in the creator space by virtue of always chasing the opportunities that put him in front of cool things so he could create beautiful images.
He's been at it on Youtube for a while now too and I recently started watching his channel. This particular video spoke to me in so many ways: It's a strong hook, has incredible storytelling, exudes style on every decision made, and more importantly: It's about many different things, but it's also really about one thing: Karl's journey. That's the capstone, the connecting thread that brings it all together.
This is really nothing new, but watching this took me back to the early years of the Casey Neistat vlog, where every day I would tune in to see this man pull off the impossible, day in and day out, for years at a time. Most episodes weren't about anything, really, but all of them were engaging, and so many had invaluable insights that I still think about to this day.
People like Karl and Casey are huge inspirations because they break the notion that you have to pick a "lane", and that there is space to build your own. This is also a great reference for what I want my YouTube programming to feel like, stay tuned for more on that!
