Beat Blitz #1: Exakt Lite + Triple EQ
What's a Beat Blitz? It's a challenge unique to our group. You'll be given the plugins to use, as well as rules for the current Beat Blitz. I'm excited to drop the rules for our first Beat Blitz! - Tempo: 90-110 bpm - Submissions should be 60-90 seconds. - Any genre - No other keyboard synth plugins are allowed (you can use a drum synth) - Use as many other effects besides Triple EQ as you want. - Use as many instances of the synth as your like (use the same synth on many different tracks) Next Beat Blitz starts October 1. Hop into Exakt Lite and share what you've made! Suggestions on the challenge format are totally welcome! Any other limitations you think would be good? Is one synth alone too limiting?

20+ new uploads, one Friday morning?
Hey all, just wanted to tease some of the new visualizer tools I've been vibe coding + playing around with this morning. What was called EQ-V before is now VusicFX, and includes four different visualizers instead of just the one I talked about last week :-) I'll make a full post about it on Monday, but for now I just wanted to share a few sneak peeks. With the help of these tools, I managed to prep 22 new uploads for songs I have that are almost 15 years old. (I attached 4 of them here 😎) How many songs do you have that are ready to upload to YouTube but are just missing visuals?
Hi, thoughts?
Hey all, hope you're having a great weekend! Previously we had talked about doing challenges like this: visit the site, click the Skool Challenge button, and work with what the site gives you - make a beat, a full song, or a small snippet with those synths + fx and post it. But we might be able to help each other learn and explore better if everyone has the same plugins for our challenges - that way we can hear how others use the same tools, providing some inspiration and tips for using these plugins. Instead of being given a group of plugins that's unique to you, everyone would have the same plugin(s) to work with when making their submission. Curious to hear what our members think!

Question for everybody! We're beginning talks about what kind of adjustments we can make to the user experience as we continue validating download links and cleaning up entries on the database. Right now, the website builder just builds a static page of every single plugin in the database* which is pretty neat for seeing the scale! but cumbersome when you need to keep scrolling and scrolling and scrolling. How could we make the site easier and more enjoyable for you to use? *(3800, give or take - there are some duplicates due to the scraping process πŸ˜…)

Jinkies! That's a lot of audio tools!
Using Python's Requests module + GitHub's personal access token, I was able to scrape together a list of GitHub repos (read: coding projects) containing words like DAW, audio plugins, and VSTs (among about 40 other audio-related words). The resulting sheet looks like this - and notice the number on that bottom line. 33,690 repos - all provided to the public for sharing, viewing and using. And the craziest part is that GitHub's limit for each word is 1000 results - there might be another 30 to 100 thousand repositories on GitHub that aren't included on this list. Time to start cloning some repos!
