Get Drawing Audits for free this week
A Drawing Audit with me will help you develop better drawings. How does it work? You send me your drawings in PDF form. Something that you’re working on or trying to develop. Option A: I’ll review the drawings, mark them up with items that I see could use some improvements, solve some sticking points for you, or something else that you are having problems with. After this review, I’ll send these markups back to you along with a video discussing what I see along with some ideas of how the drawings can be improved. Option B: I’ll review the drawings, mark them up with items that I see could use some improvements, solve some sticking points for you, or something else that you are having problems with. After this review we get on a live call together. I'll go through my notes with you. We talk about the drawings and why I marked them up the way I did. You have a chance to ask questions about my notes and anything else in the drawings that you want to discuss. At the end of our session, you will have a good understanding of your drawings and my suggestions to make them better. I'll send you the mark-ups and the video recording of our review. The types of drawings that we can work on: Architectural design development Interior design development Kitchen design development Millwork and cabinet engineering, detailing, and design development Book a call to get started. https://calendly.com/aecdesign/30min I'm offering (2) slots of each option, so (4) chances total, to my Drafting Workshop community at no charge. I will be charging for these in the future, so now is your chance to give them a spin at no cost to you. I'm only asking for some constructive feedback so I can do better for you.

CAD drafting mentorship
I’ve seen a few posts from recent graduates or young architects who are starting new positions, but are having a problem working out how to put CAD drawings together. They’re being asked to be responsible for the drawings, but maybe didn’t get the complete training they needed from school. Would you be interested in a mentor that can help you with these questions? If your coworkers aren’t interested or don’t take the time to help you, where do you go? Would you be interested in being part of a group like this? A community of drafters and designers at different stages in their careers meet and support each other. A place to ask questions and seek support without the heat of someone looking down their nose at you. It’s something that I’m trying to put together, but something that I’m still a little unsure if there is a need for it. I’d like to hear opinions about it. Here is the link to where I'm building something like this. Drafting Workshop

Why MOST Architecture Firms hit Plateau (And Don’t Know WHY).
You Don’t Have a Lead Problem, You Have a Conversion Problem. You didn’t start your firm to chase clients. You didn’t survive studio all-nighters, crit reviews, and years of licensure exams just to negotiate your own fees down on a Zoom call. But if we’re being honest… A lot of firms are still operating like this: * Waiting on referrals * Hoping a broker sends something over * Sending a proposal and praying it doesn’t get ghosted * Hearing “we’re talking to a few other firms” and instantly feeling pressure That’s not strategy. That’s survival. And survival mode is expensive. If your average project is $80k–$120k and you’re closing 2 out of 10 qualified inquiries, that’s not a design issue. That’s a structure issue. Because the firms that quietly dominate their local market? They’re not always more talented. They just: * Control the discovery call * Pre-frame budget before presenting design * Anchor value before fees ever come up * Filter out bad-fit clients early * Have a defined sales process their team understands Most architects were never taught how to: * Handle “your fee is higher than the others” * Prevent scope creep before it starts * Upsell additional services without feeling awkward * Build brand authority so clients come in pre-sold So what happens? You take projects you don’t even love just to keep cash flow steady. You discount when you shouldn’t. You tolerate red flags because pipeline isn’t predictable. And the worst part? You think it’s normal. It’s not. The moment you add structure to how projects are won, everything changes: * Higher close rates * Better clients * Cleaner margins * A team that feels stable instead of reactive * The ability to say “no” without anxiety Architecture school taught you how to design. Nobody taught you how to win. The good news? This is a skill gap, not a talent gap. And once you see the framework behind it, you’ll wonder how you ever operated without it.
