📌 IMP: How to Ask Questions (Get Answers Faster)
Post your question in the ❓ Questions tab — not General. Before you post a question, follow this format and you'll get a much better answer: 1. State the topic — e.g. "AP Physics C Mechanics – Rotational Motion" 2. Show your work — even if it's wrong, share what you tried 3. Be specific — "I don't get torque" is hard to answer. "I don't understand why net torque = Iα when the axis isn't fixed" is easy to answer 4. Include the problem — photo or typed out Questions posted in General will be ignored — I only monitor the ❓ Questions tab. I check questions every 24–48 hours. The more clearly you ask, the faster and better the answer.

Can someone please explain to me why the graph goes negative when we take contact force into consideration?
The black arrow points towards the diagram that we're using as a point of reference to draw our graphs. The blue arrow points towards the acceleration time graph drawn **without** taking contact force into consideration. The red arrow points towards the acceleration time graph drawn **with** taking contact force into consideration. Also, I'm not entirely sure what contact/collision force is either so I would appreciate a brief elaboration on that as well.
Can someone please explain to me why the graph goes negative when we take contact force into consideration?
