Homeopathy for Skin, Wrinkles & Healthy Aging.
As we age, our skin naturally changes. Sun exposure, hydration, nutrition, stress, hormonal changes, and loss of elasticity can all contribute to fine lines and wrinkles. Homeopathy can be used as supportive care, with the goal of supporting the individual rather than simply focusing on the appearance of the skin. Some of the remedies traditionally considered for different skin patterns include: 🌿 Thuja occidentalis: Premature aging, dry or rough skin and fine wrinkles. 🦴 Calcarea fluorica: Loss of firmness and elasticity, fine lines and sagging. 💧 Natrum muriaticum: Dry skin, particularly when sun exposure or stress seems to be a contributing factor. 🌸 Sulphur: Dry, unhealthy skin with a tendency toward irritation or burning. 🌱 Lycopodium: Skin concerns occurring alongside digestive or metabolic patterns. ✨ Silicea: Traditionally considered when connective tissue and skin repair are part of the overall picture. The tissue salts can also be considered as supportive options, including Calcarea fluorica, Silicea, Natrum muriaticum, and Kali sulphuricum. One of the most important principles in homeopathy is individualization. Two people with wrinkles may have very different overall patterns, so the same remedy isn’t necessarily appropriate for everyone. Don’t forget the basics: nourishing food, adequate hydration, quality sleep, healthy skin care, electrolytes, healthy fats, and protecting your skin from excessive sun exposure all play an important role in healthy aging. 🌿 What skin changes have you noticed as you’ve gotten older? Have you ever used homeopathy as part of your skin care routine?

Foggy Fall and Flu
🍂 What does a foggy fall walk have to do with homeopathy? On this foggy fall Friday, Barbara and I took a walk and talked about her journey with homeopathy. ❤️ Barbara took one of my homeopathy classes and has continued learning and using what she has learned with her family and dogs. She shared how she used Sanguinaria during her husband’s flu and is now using Calcarea carbonica as part of the homeopathic support she is giving him following a serious diagnosis and treatment. She also uses homeopathy for herself and her dogs, including Bovista and Aethusa for digestive concerns. I love hearing how people take what they learn and continue building confidence in understanding homeopathy for their families and animals. 🐕🌿 Homeopathy is a beautiful journey of learning, observing and becoming more familiar with the remedies.

🌿 Another Clean Living Rabbit Hole: What Are We Wearing?
I want to share a little confession with our Skool community. Here in Amy’s Health Nest, our primary focus is homeopathy and nutrition, but I know many of you are also trying to make cleaner choices for your families. I am too. Over the years, I have paid a lot of attention to what we eat, what we put on our skin and what we use around our homes like cleaner. Yet I realized I hadn't given nearly enough thought to our clothing until the last few months. Our clothes can be against our skin for 12 or more hours a day. Some textiles are made from synthetic fibers, while others may contain dyes, finishes, coatings or plasticizing chemicals used during manufacturing. Researchers have specifically investigated chemicals such as phthalates in clothing because of their potential endocrine and reproductive effects. 🌱 Even "100% cotton" isn't necessarily the whole story. I used to think seeing 100% cotton on a label meant I was choosing a clean option. Now I'm learning there is a big difference between conventional cotton and certified organic cotton. USDA's most recent cotton pesticide-use survey found that herbicides were applied to 88% of U.S. cotton acres in 2025, while insecticides were used on 39%. That doesn't mean conventional cotton clothing is automatically dangerous. It does make me want to be more intentional about what I purchase, especially for clothing worn close to our skin. 👕 What am I looking for now? I'm starting to look for: 🌿 GOTS certified organic cotton 🌿 OEKO TEX STANDARD 100 🌿 Linen 🌿 Hemp 🌿 Wool and other natural fibers 🌿 Undyed or minimally dyed fabrics when practical 🌿 Fewer stain resistant, wrinkle resistant and water resistant treatments GOTS is especially interesting to me. It doesn't simply look at whether the cotton started as organic. The certification covers processing and manufacturing requirements as well as environmental and social criteria throughout the textile supply chain. OEKO TEX STANDARD 100 is another label I'm going to pay more attention to. It tests textile components for harmful substances, with stricter requirements for products that have more direct skin contact.
