Dogs Breaking Rules
Hard truth: Your dog is a reflection of you. 🪞 The reason your dog is out of control is not because they’re a bad dog. It’s because nobody has ever given them clear, consistent leadership. And that starts with you. Dogs want to know two things: What are the rules? And what happens when I break them? When the rules change every day, your dog learns the rules don’t really exist. And a dog with no rules is an anxious dog, because now they have to make all the decisions, and they are not equipped for that. The moment you become consistent, the moment the rules are the rules, every single day, no exceptions, your dog will transform faster than you ever thought possible. What is one rule in your house that you know you’ve been inconsistent about? Be honest. No judgment here. 👇

Proud moments
Impizi has improved SO MUCH, when it comes to walking on the leash. This month while working with MJ, not only has my boy Impizi improved tremendously on walking in left heel but also started learning how to walk on the right as well. He’s gotten better about not rushing out of his crate without the “free” command, gotten better about not jumping and we’ve also been working on “orbit” and “middle”. It’s great seeing so much progress and a complete 180 since I’ve gotten him. 🖤
The science of how dogs actually learn (most trainers only teach you half of this) 🧠
Pack Members, let’s talk about Operant Conditioning: the science behind every behavior your dog does. There are 4 quadrants, and most trainers only talk about one of them. Quadrant 1 — Positive Reinforcement: Add something good to make a behavior happen more. Dog sits → dog gets pets or a treat Quadrant 2 — Negative Punishment: Remove something good to stop a behavior. Dog jumps for attention → you turn your back. Attention disappears. Quadrant 3 — Positive Punishment: Add a fair correction to stop an unwanted behavior. Dog drags you toward traffic → quick, firm leash pop. Quadrant 4 — Negative Reinforcement: Remove pressure the moment they do the right thing. Dog yields → pressure instantly releases. Most trainers online only talk about Quadrant 1. But real life isn’t just treats. To build a truly reliable dog, you need all four tools. 👉 Go watch Lesson 1.2 in the free Pack Members Course, I break this down on the whiteboard so it clicks instantly. -MJ
