The Life Upgrade Challenge
This week’s topic is about decisions, growth, and the kind of person you are becoming.
Imagine you could upgrade one part of your life, but every upgrade comes with a trade-off.
You have to choose carefully.
Your Speaking Task
Post an audio in the comments answering 3–5 of these questions:
- Would you upgrade your English instantly, but lose all the progress you made in another skill?
- Would you become more confident, but also more willing to take uncomfortable risks?
- Would you work less, but earn less money?
- Would you move to your dream country, but start completely from zero?
- Would you become extremely disciplined, but have less free time?
- Would you receive honest feedback every day, even if it hurts your ego?
- Would you speak English every day with strangers, even if you made many mistakes?
- Would you delete one bad habit forever, but also lose one comfort you enjoy?
- Would you become successful faster, but feel more pressure?
- Would you rather have a comfortable life now, or a more challenging life that could change your future?
Goal
Speak for 1–3 minutes.
Choose your answers, explain your reasons, and give real examples from your life.
Try to use:
- 2 vocabulary words
- 2 expressions
- 2 structures from this post
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Useful Structures
Use these sentence structures to organize your answer:
- Choosing
“I would choose _____ because _____.”
- Explaining the trade-off
“The difficult part is that _____.”
- Giving a personal reason
“For me, this matters because _____.”
- Adding a real-life example
“For example, in my life, _____.”
- Comparing both sides
“On one hand, _____. On the other hand, _____.”
- Final opinion
“At the end of the day, I think _____ is more important than _____.”

Example Answer
“I would choose to become more confident, even if it means taking more uncomfortable risks. The difficult part is that confidence does not come for free. You have to speak, try, fail, and feel embarrassed sometimes. For me, this matters because I know that if I want to improve my English, I can’t always stay comfortable. For example, if I speak with strangers in English, I might make mistakes, but I will also improve faster. On one hand, staying quiet feels safer. On the other hand, taking risks helps me grow. At the end of the day, I think growth is more important than comfort.”
