How Serenity Now turned into Alchemy NOW!
Today, while talking with my sister about some stressful moments with our elderly parents, she suddenly yelled, “Serenity now!” We both cracked up. What made it even better was that we’d just been talking about alchemy — about writing as a way to work through what irritates us, what softens us, and what we inherit. So I yelled back, “Alchemy NOW!” And just like that, I had a new phrase to carry with me. When my mom gets on my nerves — and she does — I can catch myself and think: Alchemy NOW! This is something I get to write about. A place to look for softness. For understanding. For love — for her, for me, and for my own boys. So I’ve started what I’m calling a Mom Box — a place for snippets, memories, frustrations, tenderness, parenting reflections. The good and the hard. I’m letting it all land and trusting the art to show me what needs healing. This is what I’m alchemizing right now. 👉 If you want to share: What are you working through — and how is your art helping you process it? Raw or finished is welcome. This is a place to flex. And laughing at ourselves is absolutely allowed. 👉 And just for fun: If you're a Seinfeld fan like me - what is one of your favorite scenes from the show? Photo by Elena Mozhvilo on Unsplash
