I recorded this in February. Since then, most of these have gotten new versions, and a few new ones have shown up. A rerun with the current versions is on my list.

I moved my editing from CapCut to DaVinci Resolve and kept pressing CapCut keys that do nothing there. So I made myself a one-page sheet: the thing you did in CapCut, and the Resolve key for it. Split, delete and close the gap, trim like the CapCut edge-drag, insert and overwrite, zoom, mute, speed. The keys are read from the menus of Resolve Studio 21 on Windows. PDF attached, in case it is useful for someone making the same move.

New tutorial on the channel: how to connect Claude to DaVinci Resolve Studio. The video shows every click, the setup takes about two minutes. Two things worth knowing before you try it: 1. Preferences > System > General > External scripting using has to be set to Local. If it says None, Claude just sits there with a dead connection. 2. Claude does not watch your footage. It works from the timeline data: clip names, durations, frames. So it is no good for creative cutting yet, but it is good for the boring part: importing, building timelines, bulk trims, renames, simple grades, exports. And it tells you what it did and where it had to do it differently.

Small follow-up to this morning's post. I made a video walking through the API pricing; it is on the channel now. Claude did the whole cut, graphics, and sound inside DaVinci Resolve Studio through its scripting connection, using my screenshots, the voiceover, and my avatar clips.
