AI tools to stop impulsive purchases - anyone else have this problem?
I can be impulsive and regret buying stuff I don't need, so I built a custom AI tool to help me and it's been working!
If this is something that you ever struggle with, I want to share it in case it helps you too!
Here’s the problem: I'm constantly bombarded with marketing and it works.
I see something I want, and my brain would go straight to 𝘣𝘶𝘺 𝘯𝘰𝘸. (which is exactly what marketers want)
So I built a tool for myself that does two things:
1. Captures the things I’m thinking about buying the moment they pop into my head.
2. Helps me decide if they’re worth the money before I pull the trigger.
Here’s how I use it:
• I use the microphone button and say whatever I’m thinking about buying and describe a little bit of my reasoning
• It adds everything to a running list.
• Then it asks me follow-up questions so I can sort through what’s important and what’s just impulse.
Now, when I’m at a store or open Amazon, I pull up the list. No more “I forgot what I needed so I better get it now” or “this looks nice, I’ll just grab it.”
If you ever struggle with impulse purchases or just want to be more intentional with how you spend your money, this might be a simple way to take control of your spending.
Here's the link to try it yourself:
Hope it helps!
