Week 2 Mini-Project: Prompt Chain for Complex Tasks
Here is a 7-Day AWS Practitioner Study Workflow prompt chain I asked ChatGPT to come up with that combines Notebook LM. Each day I will review one domain (from Stephane Maarek’s Udemy course transcripts) and run it through the 3-step chain:
📅 7-Day AWS Practitioner Study Plan with Prompt Chain
Day 1 – Cloud Concepts & Global Infrastructure
  • Input: Transcript from Stephane’s “Introduction + Cloud Concepts” videos.
  • Step 1 – SummarizationPrompt: “Summarize this transcript into a one-page handout. Bold AWS terms, define them briefly, and structure by exam domain.”
  • Step 2 – Active RecallPrompt: “Generate 10 multiple-choice practice questions from this summary. 1 correct answer, 3 distractors, with explanations.”
  • Step 3 – ReinforcementPrompt: “Turn this into a podcast dialogue where a professor explains Regions, AZs, and Shared Responsibility using analogies (like airports).”
✅ End Goal: Clear understanding of cloud concepts and AWS global infra.
Day 2 – Security & Compliance
  • Input: Videos on IAM, MFA, Organizations, and compliance frameworks.
  • Step 1 – SummarizationPrompt: “Summarize IAM and compliance concepts into a bullet-point study guide. Include best practices for root accounts, MFA, and least privilege.”
  • Step 2 – Active RecallPrompt: “Generate 8 scenario-based questions (e.g., ‘A company wants to secure root account access…’) with answers.”
  • Step 3 – ReinforcementPrompt: “Create a podcast script where a teacher explains IAM and compliance in simple terms for beginners.”
✅ End Goal: Security pillar basics mastered.
Day 3 – Compute Services
  • Input: Videos on EC2, Elastic Beanstalk, Lambda, Containers (ECS/EKS).
  • Step 1 – SummarizationPrompt: “Make a comparison table of EC2, Lambda, and Elastic Beanstalk with use cases and exam tips.”
  • Step 2 – Active RecallPrompt: “Write 10 multiple-choice questions comparing EC2, Lambda, ECS, and EKS.”
  • Step 3 – ReinforcementPrompt: “Create a podcast where a student asks when to use EC2 vs. Lambda, and the teacher explains with examples.”
✅ End Goal: Understand compute choices and serverless.
Day 4 – Storage Services
  • Input: Videos on S3, Glacier, EBS, EFS, Storage Gateway.
  • Step 1 – SummarizationPrompt: “Summarize storage services into a quick reference sheet. Include S3 storage classes and lifecycle policies.”
  • Step 2 – Active RecallPrompt: “Generate 7 multiple-choice and 3 true/false questions on S3 classes, durability, and cost models.”
  • Step 3 – ReinforcementPrompt: “Produce a podcast explaining S3 vs. EFS vs. Glacier using real-life analogies like filing cabinets and cloud drives.”
✅ End Goal: Be confident on storage tradeoffs.
Day 5 – Database & Networking
  • Input: Videos on RDS, DynamoDB, Redshift, VPC basics.
  • Step 1 – SummarizationPrompt: “Summarize relational vs. non-relational AWS databases and their use cases. Include RDS, DynamoDB, Redshift, Aurora.”
  • Step 2 – Active RecallPrompt: “Create 10 scenario questions where a company must pick the right database. Include VPC questions.”
  • Step 3 – ReinforcementPrompt: “Write a podcast-style script explaining VPCs and subnets as if explaining neighborhoods and houses.”
✅ End Goal: Know when to use each database and basics of VPC.
Day 6 – Billing, Pricing & Support
  • Input: Videos on pricing models, TCO calculator, support plans.
  • Step 1 – SummarizationPrompt: “Summarize pricing models (On-Demand, Reserved, Spot, Savings Plans) into a cheat sheet with cost optimization tips.”
  • Step 2 – Active RecallPrompt: “Generate 8 billing/pricing questions and 5 support plan questions in exam style.”
  • Step 3 – ReinforcementPrompt: “Create a podcast where a student asks how to save money in AWS, and the teacher explains Reserved Instances and Budgets.”
✅ End Goal: Solid understanding of pricing and support.
Day 7 – Mock Exam & Final Review
  • Input: Summaries from Days 1–6.
  • Step 1 – SummarizationPrompt: “Create a one-page master cheat sheet for last-minute AWS Cloud Practitioner review.”
  • Step 2 – Active RecallPrompt: “Generate a 20-question mixed-domain practice exam, with answers and explanations.”
  • Step 3 – ReinforcementPrompt: “Produce a 15-minute podcast recap that covers all four domains in exam order.”
✅ End Goal: Walk into exam day with a condensed review, confidence, and practice.
🔗 Saved Prompt Chain Template (Reusable for Each Domain)
  1. Summarize → One-page handout / table.
  2. Quiz → 8–10 multiple-choice or scenario questions.
  3. Recast → Podcast-style dialogue for reinforcement.
I figure this is a great way to prepare for the AWS Practitioner exam.
