I recently made the decision to finally build the Skool group that's been sitting in my account for 10 months. On the one hand, it feels like just another shiny object taking me away from what I was working on. But on the other, it brings together so many parts of me, and will allow me to pull in all the content that's sitting in my project graveyard on my computer. It's time that work sees the light of day.
Remembering the dreams and longing of an Independence Day from decades ago (early 80s), I decided to open it as a free site, even if only for my friends, on the 4th of July.
But on a call tonight with a new Skool group I just joined about Skool groups, it was said, and it made sense, to open it as a paid group with a 7-day trial. So, July 4th is off the table, and now I want to spend July getting it up and ready to launch.
In 2008, I opened my WritingSpirit membership site and ran it until mid-2010. I interviewed publishing professionals and an Academy Award-winning director, I taught several courses, and I posted regularly, so I know I'm capable of doing this, as scary as it may seem after my recent years of invisibility.
OMG! I just realized that I opened WritingSpirit on 08/08/08. So, if July 4th is off the table, a great new launch date would be 08/08/26. That gives me a goal and a deadline all wrapped into one.
