Should You Offer a 7 day free trial in your community - my experiment
I've been running a 7 day free trial in YouTube Income Vault🔐 for over a month now.
Is it worth it?
Should you do it?
In February, I tested a free trial for 3 weeks.
128 people signed up.
47.7% converted into paid members.
At first glance, that sounds strong but
the real question is whether the math works.
If for example it costs $20 to acquire a trial and 47.7% convert, that means each paying member costs about $42.
Now compare that to your pricing, your retention, and how long people stay.
That’s where things get real.
If you’re thinking about offering a free trial in your community, here’s what actually matters:
  • Your trial to paid conversion rate
  • Your cost per trial (especially if you’re running ads)
  • Your true cost per paying member
  • How long it takes to earn that money back
  • Your retention rate
  • How many people choose annual vs monthly
  • Your overall lifetime value per member
A free trial can absolutely work, you just have to do the math.
Have you been offering a free trial to grow your community?
What's been your experience?
PS. Are you a business owner who wants to focus on growing a YouTube channel?
